Born and raised a Wildcat, I jumped at the opportunity to gain my first bit of professional experience working on a subject that I loved. In my first few months of employment I worked closely with the digital communications manager on the creation of a brand new website. Though we hired professional designers to create the look and feel of the site, it was on us to make decisions about site structure, systems for organizing content and transferring the content itself. I learned the ins and outs of the OmniUpdate Content Management System by adding pages to the site, uploading content and sitting in on training and planning meetings. Simultaneously, I was eased into the art of social media content creation creating various posts for holidays, football game days and other special occasions. This past semester, I've stepped into a more heavy-duty role filling in for my supervisor who's been on maternity leave. This has led to taking on more responsibilities like drafting HTML emails, overseeing the social media schedule and working with employees from other departments on a variety of digital projects.
